Hey Guys,

Brad here–I wanted to send you a copy of our scammer alert. Nobody likes scammers but we want to keep our members informed. While the CB Staff works hard to keep blossoms.com a safe and friendly place to meet singles, we want you to be aware there are people out there who are seeking to separate you from your money. We cannot stress this enough: BE CAUTIOUS AND USE GOOD JUDGEMENT WHEN CORRESPONDING. NEVER SEND MONEY!

SOME COMMON SCAMMER TACTICS:

  • E-MAILS: You’ve exchanged a couple of e-mails or had a few chats with a lady who gives you lots of attention. She is calling you “honey”, “baby”, or “my future husband”. She has fallen for you FAST; you are the love of her life. Any claims of love early on should be approached cautiously. Until you’ve had a chance to meet in person and spend time together, you won’t really know how you feel about each other. You might share with the other person they are moving too fast and you need time to get to know them. Often, if they are a scammer, they will stop writing or chatting with you.

  • TOURIST VISAS, FINANCEE VISAS, PASSPORTS, AIRLINE TICKETS: The person you are in contact with wants to come and visit you. They claim all they need is some money to get a passport, a tourist visa or an airline ticket. Be very suspicious of anyone who says they have a visitor’s visa and just needs money to visit you—THIS IS A COMMON SCAM. It is VERY DIFFICULT to obtain a US tourist visa, unless you are from a country that participates in the visa waiver program. More information about visitor visa requirements and exceptions can be found online at: U S Dept of State Bureau of Consular Affairs. In regards to US Fiancee and Spousal Visas, ALL PAPERWORK MUST START IN THE UNITED STATES. If you would like more information, or have questions regarding US Fiancee or Spousal Visas, please contact our Visa Service & Immigration Department at Blossoms Visa Website or call them at (800) 322-3267.

  • MEDICAL BILLS, INTERNET SERVICE FEES, CELL PHONE BILLS, TRANSLATIONS, AND SCHOOL COSTS: Scammers know how to tell a good sob story. You will hear how they can’t afford to care for a sick child, parent or sibling. They may tell you they need money for food, an operation or schooling. While everyone has problems, scammers prey upon your sympathy, generosity and good nature. An honest person may have a need for extra money, but knows asking for it is inappropriate. Please keep in mind that most people would never ask someone they haven’t met for money.

  • JOB OFFERS: Women seem to be the main target of this type of scam, but men should keep an eye out too. A wealthy patron is seeking a caregiver, a nanny or domestic help. They offer a generous allowance, room and board, etc. But first–you’ll have to pay them for a visa application fee! This should send up red flags!

Do report the person to blossoms.com for abuse. If they are asking you for money, chances are good they are asking other members for money too. Send your reports to office@blossoms.com. Don’t let scammers and gold diggers ruin your experience. There are thousands of genuine, honest, loveable singles who are sincerely seaching for love using our site.

Please check out our blog, blog.blossoms.com for more information, tips, or if you just want to read more of my letters.
