Chat Etiquette: Some Do’s and Don’ts Part 1

Hey Guys and Gals,

Thanks for joining us today for some basic do’s and don’ts as far as chatting etiquette:

DO: Be friendly and respond, even if it’s just to say “Sorry, I’m kind of busy now.” or “Sorry, I already have a GF/BF”

DON’T: Send silly spam back! (Unless you’re a really, really good friend.) It’s annoying and doesn’t help. ;)

DO: Introduce yourself, and tell your prospective chat friend about you and why you chose to write to them. Example: “Hi, I’m Ted. 29/Male/USA. I saw your profile on Cherry Blossoms and thought you were cute.”

DON’T: Be rude and start talking about body parts right off the bat! Example: “o hai lol. do u want to see mai *CENSORED*”.

DO: Try to video and voice chat with your new friends. It’s fun! And it serves the purpose of helping you verify your new friend is a real person.

DON’T: Get mad if they’re not ready to chat yet. Some folks are camera shy.

PS- DO NOT SEND MONEY TO ANYONE YOU HAVE NOT MET IN PERSON FOR A WEBCAM OR A CELL PHONE OR CAFE TIME.  This is usually a scam.

We hope this helps you on your way to finding a wonderful mate! Stay tuned for more tips :D

Aloha,
