We’re Married!

A big thank you to the staff at Cherry Blossoms for getting us through the immigration process and helping my wife to come and be with me in America.  We both appreciate all your efforts along the way in making this dream come true.  We couldn’t have done it without you.  You made the whole process easy for us and did everything in your power to give us success.  Feel free to post our positive comments about Cherry Blossoms on your website as I would recommend to anyone going through the immigration process to use your company.

Thanks again,

Christine and David W.

Congratulations, CB Friends! We wish you the very best in your new lives together!

Passports! Where to begin?

Hi Readers!

If you’re thinking of meeting someone overseas, you’ll definitely need a passport to go visit. Depending on where you’re from and where you’re headed, you might not even need a visa to visit (but that’s another post), but you WILL need a valid passport. By “valid passport”, we mean one that hasn’t expired, and won’t expire while you’re overseas.

Here’s a few tips that may help you get going:

Get one before you plan to visit! It can take several days, to a month or more for your application to be processed. Make sure you have plenty of time.

If you’re running short on time, and don’t mind an extra fee– several agencies offer expedited processing.

In many cases, you can start your application online, or at your local post office. Check the bottom of this post for more information.

Be sure to read available information from your country’s official website (Travel.gov for USA, Dfa.gov.ph for PI, etc.).  If there’s something you’re not sure about, or need more information about, be sure to contact them directly.

Want to share your experiences with applying for a passport? Let us know!

Here are just a few of the issuing authorities- we haven’t listed them all, but a quick internet search will help you locate the one that’s right for your country.

Gov.uk- Passport information

Passports.gov.au- Information and Online application

Travel.state.gov- USA passport information and application

Department of Foreign Affairs- Philippines Passport information

PS- Never, ever, ever send money to anyone you haven’t met in person. This comes up a lot when passports are mentioned. If someone asks you to pay for their passport or visa application fees, tell them no!

Cherry Blossoms DOES NOT process passport applications,we are not associated with any government agencies, and this blog post is not the same as legal advice. If you need legal advice, please contact an attorney.

Happy Holidays!

Hi, Readers!

We hope you’re having a safe and happy Holiday season with your friends and family. As you may know, the holidays are in full swing. Something we would love to know is how YOU celebrate! Tell us, do you:

  •  Decorate a Christmas tree?
  • Sing Christmas carols?
  • Just hang out at home with your friends and family?
  • Do you celebrate the Solstice instead?

The traditions surrounding the holidays are as diverse as the people who celebrate them! The CB Staff could not possibly hope to list them all.

Instead, we have a few ideas for you to try on Cherry Blossoms this winter:

  •  Wish someone a Merry Christmas! (Or the holiday you celebrate, we know not everyone celebrates Christmas.)
  • Ask what the other person does- especially if they’re from another country. It’s a great conversation starter.
  • Share what you and your family do to celebrate winter!

Start some conversations and share a little bit of cheer today! Who knows, it could be the start of a beautiful friendship and a life-long relationship. Come visit us at Cherry Blossoms today.
